Ward 6 Review is an online literary journal published monthly (ISSN: 1934-3353). Our focus is on publishing the finest poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction, regardless of form, style, school, or method. Quite simply, we will take the best work that crosses our desks. We intend to do everything within our power to turn Ward 6 Review into a premiere literary destination on the Internet.

STAFF
Les Kay managing editor/poetry editor
Les earned a BA in Creative Writing from Carnegie Mellon University and received his MFA from the University of Miami, where he was a James Michener fellow and the Managing Editor of Mangrove. To learn more or to witness his contemplation of the craft of poetry and his dogs, please visit his blog.
Aside from his work here, Les is a freelance writer and copyeditor. He is also married to the fiction editor.
Michelle Kay fiction editor
Michelle also earned a BA in Creative Writing from Carnegie Mellon University. In the opinion of the poetry editor, she is the most talented writer in the household. She is also an insanely prolific reader.
Aside from her work here, Michelle manages a regional office for a company that assists clients through complex real estate exchanges. She is also married to the poetry editor.
GUIDELINES
If you think your poem, story, or personal essay belongs at Ward 6 Review, please do submit. The editors are working to build an identity by publishing the finest work possible.
At the moment, we can offer no payment. However, if your work is accepted, we will provide exposure for your work and a bit of space in our pages to promote yourself.
Help us turn Ward 6 Review into a premiere literary destination on the Internet by sending your best work.

fiction
- We only accept email submissions
- NO ATTACHMENTS PLEASE
- Place "ATTN: Fiction" and the title of the story in the subject line of your email
- Make sure that your submission uses plain text
- Please limit submissions to 3,000 words; longer stories will significantly reduce your chances of acceptance
- Please limit yourself to one submission at a time
- Allow 6-8 weeks for a response
- Call out any special formatting that is needed in your email
- Simultaneous submissions are fine with us—just let us know
- No previously published work
poetry
- We only accept email submissions
- NO ATTACHMENTS PLEASE
- Place "ATTN: Poetry" in the subject line of your email
- Use plain text (not MS Word formatting)
- Please limit submissions to 4 poems
- Please keep poems under 2 pages in length
- Please limit yourself to one submission at a time
- Allow 6-8 weeks for a response
- Call out any special formatting that is needed in your email
- Simultaneous submissions are ok, but we need to know
- No previously published work

- The Etc. section seeks personal essays, memoir excerpts, and reviews of contemporary fiction and poetry
- If you have a piece that doesn't fit easily elsewhere in our journal, query with "ATTN: Etc" in the subject line
- We only accept email submissions

By submitting to Ward 6 Review, you are representing that you own all rights to the work in question. You further agree to grant first electronic rights to Ward 6 Review. A published piece will appear on Ward 6 Review for at least a month, at which point it will be moved to our archives, which will be online indefinitely. Upon publication, all rights revert to the author.
If your work is published, Ward 6 Review will publish your work and a brief bio, including links to your website provided they are of a non-commercial and/or literary nature. Ward 6 Review will also strive to publicize each issue as widely as possible, providing your work with as broad an audience as possible.
