Helplessness

stooped over broken
wooden pews

late at night

defeated faces
search for any sign of light
from silent stained glass

Def: helplessness (n)

a fish turning itself over on shore

a parent slumped in a chair
in a still white room, silent
but for the beating of a heart

aphasia induced by your
seraphic eyes
